Northern Ireland Seed – Halo Angel Network

I’d just like to say a big thank you to Roisin Clancy for sending me the event slides for last week’s Frameworks seminar on seed capital in Northern Ireland. Having now had a look at the slides, there are some interesting tidbits from the powerpoint presentation. I believe the sample was taken from 2007 and draws upon the Kauffman Report. Here are some of the details:

–  Average due diligence spent on companies was around 20 hours.

–  7% of investments returned 10 fold or more.

–  Higher angel involvement generally equated to higher returns.

–  68% of second round follow-on investing resulted in a loss of capital.

I will be looking out for more on the Northern Ireland angel network, Halo.

The original article that led me to the event is here.
